Max Weber Fellowships
|
Deadline: October 25, 2008
The Max Weber Programme at the European University Institute (EUI) is Europe's largest postdoctoral programme in the social sciences and is funded by the European Commission.
Max Weber Fellowships are for 1 or 2 years and are open to candidates who have received a doctorate in economics, social and political sciences, law or history within the last 5 years.
These fellowships are intended for young researchers who want to consolidate their research and training in an active interdisciplinary environment before entering the increasingly internationalised academic job market, or young academics who are at the start of their careers in an academic institution and who wish to develop their skills in advanced research and academic practice.
Fellows are selected on the basis of their research accomplishments and potential, their academic career interests, and the availability of the EUI faculty to provide mentorship.
Max Weber Fellows are encouraged and supported in their own research agendas and will work in close cooperation with the Departments of the European University Institute (EUI) and/or the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS). Fellows are associated with a department.
The Max Weber Programme also provides communication skills (writing, presentation and teaching), multidisciplinary research workshops, and understanding of professional international academic life.
The deadline for application for fellowships for the academic year 2009/2010 is 25 October 2008.
