Advanced Assessment and Alignment in Course Design

Room Shogun 2 (and Sakura)

Moderator:                           Matyas Szabo, CRC Director, CRC/AFP Trainer

Boris Kostov, AFP fellow, CRC/AFP Trainer

The sessions in this track are recommended for those fellows and members of supported departments who have already participated in earlier CRC/AFP training sessions. The first part of the workshop will focus on some more complex or innovative student assessment techniques, such as student projects, group work, field-work, student portfolios, and students’ self-assessment tools, and will encourage participants to investigate the possibility of applying some of these methods in their own courses. The second part of the training will take participants through the complex process of aligning all parts of their courses (content, structure, readings, assessment tools, etc) to the targeted aims and learning outcomes, and thus re-think and/or re-construct the design of their existing courses.
