CRC Trainings in Kyiv, Ukraine (February 1-2, 2007)

I. DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING WORKSHOP TRACKS 

CRC training on course design and teaching methodology on February 1-2 will consist  of  two parallel workshops offered during the two day training:

- Track # 1: Workshop on Course Design and Major Issues in Student Assessment.  This training is recommended for AFP fellows and members of partner departments who have not participated in earlier CRC/AFP trainings.  The workshop aims to engage participants in a discussion on the various factors that influence the process of developing new courses, the steps that are taken in designing new courses and writing student-centered syllabi, as well as on a variety of approaches, methods, criteria that are used in assessing student learning.

- Track # 2: Workshop on Advanced Assessment and Course/Faculty Evaluation. This track is recommended for AFP fellows who have already participated in earlier CRC/AFP training sessions, and will focus on more complex or innovative student assessment techniques (including student projects, group work, field-work, student portfolios, and self-assessment tools) and on faculty and course evaluation.
