How to get startedRegistration In order to receive access to Fellows' and Departmental Webfolio pages of other AFP Fellows and set up your own Academic Webfolio, you have to register to the AFP Academic Webfolio Project's website. Here are the steps: 1. Click on "Register now" on the main page. 2. Fill out all registration information (including selecting an appropriate "AFP Affiliation Category" from the dropout menu describing the type of your AFP affiliation). 3. An email about your request will be automatically sent to your regional AFP Webfolio website administrator. 4. Your Webfolio website's account will be activated within 24 hours (usually it takes just several hours). 5. The AFP Webfolio website administrator will activate your account, and your individual Academic Webfolio webpage will be created automatically. 6. After this, you will be able to upload items to your Academic Webfolio. You will also receive access to all Webfolios of other AFP Fellows/AFP partner departments and be able to post comments to their Webfolio materials. 7. You can also contribute materials to your Departmental WF - they should be sent to your regional Webfolio website administrator (whose contact information can be found at www.afpwebfolio.org/support/contacts ) Viewing Webfolios 1. Log in to the Webfolio website as a registered user. Only registered users can get access to Fellows' and Departmental Webfolio pages (the rest of the AFP Academic Webfolio website is open to all visitors). 2. Click on Fellows' Webfolios page. 3. You will see a table of all Academic Webfolios created by AFP fellows. Webfolios on this list can be sorted in the alphabetical order (or in the reverse alphabetical) by clicking on the table column titles. 4. You will see the first page with 30 Academic Webfolios on the screen, the rest of them could be viewed when you click on page numbers (1,2,3....) below the table (like in Google search results). 5. The sign "NEW" next to a Webfolio or a specific Webfolio item indicates that they have been created/updated within the last 14 days. 6. There is Webfolio Filter block available in the upper part of the Fellows' Webfolio page, which allows to limit the number of Fellows' Webfolios on the screen (for example, you may want to see only Webfolios of Fellows from your academic field and/or those from a particular country. You can do this by selecting a particular academic field and/or a country in the Webfolio Filter and click "search". By default you see Academic Webfolios of all fellows from all disciplines and countries.) 7. There is a Webfolio Item Search block in the bottom part of the Fellows' Webfolio page. It allows searching specific materials in all the Webfolios by key words, category of Webfolio item and academic field of the Webfolio author. Posting comments to Academic Webfolios of Fellows or departments 1. You can (and are expected to :) post your comments to Webfolio materials. To do this, click on a Webfolio item's name: there is a comment window in the bottom part of the screen. Your feedback is very valuable to Webfolio authors. Uploading materials to your Webfolio 1. Click on "Upload a new item to my Webfolio" button in the left part of the webpage. You can do it from any page of the website - in all cases the materials will be uploaded to your Academic Webfolio. 2. "Item's name" - under this name your material will be seen in your Academic Webfolio. It is important to reflect in the name whether it is a modification of a previously existing Webfolio item. 3. "Items' type" - you have to carefully choose the type of the item you are uploading, as others will use the item category in searching materials presenting interest for them in Academic Webfolios (unless you intend to conceal from others products of your uninhibited inspiration, of course :) 4. A Webfolio item can consist of a text description (you can type it into the dialogue window) and an attached file in any standard format.
